light lab ignite!

Who: Clergy, educators, songleaders, and others who have the primary role in planning and leading High Holiday family services (with a focus on K-5 kids) in this upcoming year are invited to apply. Only one applicant from each community will be eligible. We are looking for folks who are passionate about family t’fillah and are positioned to drive change in their institutions.

What: This is a cohort program designed to inspire and encourage leaders in planning and leading High Holiday family services. Through the Light Lab’s unique “t’fillahsophy” & focus on the science of the spiritual core, participants will explore how to translate the urgent spiritual wisdom of Jewish prayer and liturgy for both kids and adults, gifting them with tools to support them in their lives and bring our world closer to wholeness. Fellows will meet over zoom before and after the in-person immersive retreat and have access to materials, virtual office hours, and other resources over the summer in the lead up to High Holidays 5787. 

When: The in-person retreat will begin on Monday June 15th in the evening and conclude on Wednesday June 17th after lunch. There will be one zoom check in before the retreat in early June, a closing call in late August, and weekly drop-in office hours and other learning/working opportunities in between. Virtual gatherings will be scheduled based on availability after fellows are chosen.

Where: Our in-person retreat will take place in beautiful Durham, NC!  Programming will take place at Beth El Synagogue with accommodations at a nearby hotel. All food will be kosher, with options for any dietary needs.
